After seeing these on Kix and the City I really wanna track these down when they are released. Not having actually owned a pair of Dunks yet I would pay top dolla for these to be my 1st. Read on after the cut for more info.

Nike SB is to release the Boom Nike SB Dunk High in early 2010. Nicknamed the “Boom” Nike SB Dunk High because of it’s comic/cartoon like graphic and colorway, the Boom Nike SB Dunk High features a leather upper with a Blue trim, Black in the toebox, midpanel, and ankle, a White eyestay, a Red Swoosh, and Red laces. The “Boom” hit comes in the midpanel with Yellow graphic hit that is reminiscent of the getting slapped up graphic in old comics and cartoons.

Its been a while!

Now the christmas holidays are over I’ve given myself a kick up the rear to keep this blog from drowning out. Gonna give the 2010 shout outs in the next post but gonna give you all a lil look into whats been coming out my speakers the last couple days.

It is my honor to introduce you to, Chiddy Bang with their tune Kids… anyone in the electro world will reconise this track and I think it works so well.

I didnt know much about these guys until Westwood of all people played it on BBC Radio 1xtra and thought the combo of electro and hiphop went so well!

Been really busy the past few days which has knocked my sleeping pattern for 6!. Thats CJ ^ he’s a good friend of mine who’s got himself to university (Northampton) to do what he does best… drink . One of his projects is to create a blog about yourself, something I wished i would of done years ago so check it out and let him know what you think!

We had some very heavy snow for about a week then. The University was closed for many days giving us almost a whole week off to play around in the snow. After having a very warm day inside me and Arron thought lets go out and take some photos. We were out for a good couple hours as it kept coming down around us.

So after reading all that its either put you off already or your dying to know more.

First Impressions

After opening the packet, visually its not very pleasing (as pictured above). It almost looks like it has freckles which was a bit of a put off, including all the little holes that were obviously where the gristle/bone was taken out.

What Can Be Done With It?

Well most obviously put in a sandwich!. I think I put something that resembled this last year cut up into a pasta sauce. Not a very versitile food… thing, but simplicity is good right?

In Sarnie mode it went alright with some mayo and english mustard so I would recommend strong tasting condiments to go with it.

Taste

Bare able, that’s really the best way I could put it. When eating a slice on its own the taste of “Chicken” is almost forgotten when you feel the grittiness of what it is. Sometimes some gristle that went under the radar goes crunch or there’s a bit of a shock with a odd almost sour aftertaste left in your mouth. In a sandwich its almost the same story except for the fact the mayo and mustard camouflages the aftertaste and the bread hides the grittiness.

Positives?… If any

It does cure one thing… The drunken munchies. Come home after a rough night down the SU, club, pub or mates flat and stuff a couple slices of this in a sarnie with whatever sauce in the house and it does fill a hole. Its even better when you have mates over. If you seem to raid their cupboards when your over theirs on the lash and they are over yours this time, demanding food after the amount of late night spag bowls you’ve had at theirs, just wack some of this into a triple decker sarnie for some friendly food loving. mmm good times.

Would you feed this to your friends?… I did and it went alright…ish

During the Summer I got to do some photography with the South Connections Carnival Mas Band based in Oval, London.

One of my close mates has been dancing with them for many years and has been to many Carnivals throughout the years. This year I asked if I could come around with them and do some Photography after hearing one of their usuals had left.

They welcomed me with open arms and invited me to many events including Carnival Splash (pictured above) at Alexandra Palace. This is where all the Carnival Mas Bands get together and showcase their new costumes to a panel of judges before Notting Hill Carnival Itself. I had great fun watching all the Bands set up all their costumes and photograph the members of South Connections getting ready, rehersing, performing and relaxing after the long day.

We were then treated to an after event performance from some of the top names in the Soca world.

I decided to pick up some things from Sainsburys in the basics range and road test em so I end up eating the crap so you dont have to!

All in all (untill I find the receipt) it cost around the tenner mark. Not to bad considering the amount I got, but if I had just that to live off id say it would last me… maybe a good 15 meals, 2 meals a day being a student an all, 7 days. Not bad just probably not very nice to eat… everyday!

So check back to see what I’ve been up to with these and see what you can add to them to make things nicer or what to completely avoid!

Sadly I didn’t get any photos but adding a chopped onion to anything tinned works a treat.

The Beans went well with a chopped onion and a some seasoning (salt, pepper) with Rice to ‘pad’ it out

And the Meatballs were great with a chopped red onion and some Caribbean Everyday Seasoning with Rice also for ‘padding’
